A short Introduction

Padampani Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital, situated at the ward no. 1 of the Saina Maina municipality of Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province, is managed and conducted by Nepal Community Yoga and Naturopathy Centre, at the ancient residential place of Padampani Matsyendranath. Geographically, this hospital lies at the west of Butwal sub-municipality, east of Banganga Municipality of Kapilvastu District, South of Ribdikot and Tinau rural-municipalities of Palpa district, and North of Suddhodan rural-municipality of Rupandehi district. This Naturopathy Hospital is situated at the foothills of the Churia, surrounded by evergreen forest, and a spacious place like amusement park. The Hospital can be reached by just 900 metre pavement road north of the East-West Highway of Saina Maina junction.

Aspiring by the “Service is Religion” as the main motto, the hospital was established in B.S. 2068 Kartik 16 (2nd November 2011, A.D.) by the initiation of local community leaders. The Hospital has fulfilled all the legality and registered at the District Administration Office of Rupandehi district. By then, this hospital has been serving to the community people from different parts of the country through the Science of Yoga and Naturopathy medicine. Currently, this hospital has been providing its Out Door Patient (OPD) service as well as residential care with the capacity of 10 beds. If the demands and needs overwhelm, the present management team has a plan to upgrade the institution‘s capacity up to 300 beds gradually from the near future. Although the institution is pioneered by the local community for its establishment, it is now becoming a common community institution for its growth and expansion by its service stakeholders.

The place lies also in an archeological and historical place of Sen Dynasty where first they established their Kingdom before moving to Ribdikot and then Tansen of Palpa district. Several archeological artifacts can still be seen and are well protected. The place is also believed a sacred place where ancient Hindu’s sage lived and gained wisdom and delivered the good Karma to their followers. It is also believed that the civilization and inhabitation of this place as old as Lord Buddha era. This place is also believed a sacred place of Padampani Matsendranath, a well-known Yoga and Naturopathy guru. Therefore, this place is an unique place of ancient civilization as well as historical, archeological, religious place still surrounded by natural green-forest and lies at the Churia foot-hills; a suitable place for Yoga and Naturopathy treatment.

Associating with ancient civilization and historical and heritage place, this Padampani Yoga and Naturopathy institution is established to link and provide our enormous knowledge and wisdom of this field to our new generation to change their lifestyle for the betterment. In this perspective, establishment of this institution is also a milestone in this field. Conservation of excavated archeological artifacts and those yet to excavation is a prime importance. For this, Saina Maina Cultural Museum, area having 8 hectares of land, is being established next to the Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital by the financial assistance by the Saina Maina Municipality and Government of Nepal. It is also believed that this place will also be a touristic attraction as well as archeological excavation and research site for national and international researchers. Patients coming here for naturopathy treatment will also have opportunity to learn and see the various archeological sites, excavated artifacts, famous water well, palace, sculpture, artworks by ancient civilization after gaining health recovery.

Patient Treatment by Naturopathy and Yoga: an optimum treatment system

There is well known verse in Sanskrit which says that our body is a part of the universe. Human body is made up of five great things of the universe viz. earth, water, atmosphere, sun or light, and sky. Our behavior, physical activities, eating habits, amusement and thinking should be compatible with the existing nature, environment and universe. If we go against with these well known facts, an unhealthy lifestyle, our body gets poisoning and we can suffer from various diseases and illness. Therefore, it is vital importance to adapt our habits, life style and thinking according to the nature where we live. Our eastern philosophers always emphasis to go with the nature, and there is abundant healing or medicine of any kind of illness with the nature. We all accept that health is wealth. Good health only deserves positive thinking and joyful feeling. There is universal belief that prevention is better than cure which also saves money. Therefore, to make good health and free from illness, our life style should follow the natural path and our daily habits should be compatible with the nature. We have to develop our thinking to treat illness by following the natural path. That’s why naturopathy healing and medicine are available. We need to change our way of thinking on natural healing using sun, water, wind, soil and the sky. In addition to that, for better physical and mental health Yoga exercise is also important. Yoga helps to fight against illness as well as it also helps to cure the illness. Daily consumption of balanced and intoxicated food habit makes the body strong and healthy. Strong and healthy body provides good mental health and good mental health inspires right mindset, positive way of thinking and moral behaviours. Therefore, we need to adopt our way of living and thinking through the natural path with Yoga.
